Claude's plans

Last checked October 17, 2026. Prices are in US dollars and leave out tax. They can differ by country, and they change. Check claude.com/pricing before you pay.

Free covers everyday questions and prompts. The sections that use Terminal need Pro, because Pro includes Claude Code.

Free

  • Cost: $0.
  • What you get: Chat on the web, your computer and your phone. Web search, files, running code, memory, voice, and up to 5 Projects. You can connect your apps and tools, and make things with Artifacts. It uses the Sonnet and Haiku models.
  • Who it's for: Anyone trying Claude for the first time, or using it for everyday questions.
  • What's missing compared with Pro: Claude Code, Research, Opus, Claude in Chrome, Microsoft 365, unlimited Projects, scheduled tasks and usage credits. You also get a smaller amount of use. There is a limit for each five-hour session, and it can change with demand.

Pro

  • Cost: $20 a month. Or $17 a month if you pay $200 for the year up front.
  • What you get: Everything in Free, plus Claude Code, Research, Opus, Claude in Chrome (Chrome browser only), Microsoft 365, unlimited Projects, and usage credits. Scheduled tasks are included as a preview. You get at least 5 times as much use in each five-hour session as on Free. There is also a weekly limit, shared between Claude and Claude Code.
  • Who it's for: People who want to build with Claude Code. This is the plan for the sections that use Terminal.
  • What's missing compared with Max: Max adds higher output limits, early access to new features, $100 to $200 a month in API credits, and the Fable model up to 50% of your weekly limits. On Pro, Fable is only available through usage credits.

Max

  • Cost: $100 a month for 5 times Pro's use per session, or $200 a month for 20 times. Monthly only. These are the web prices, and the mobile app may charge differently.
  • What you get: Everything in Pro, with 5 or 20 times the use in each session, and a weekly limit. Priority access, higher output limits, early access to new features, and $100 to $200 a month in API credits. Those API credits don't cover going over your chat or Claude Code limits.
  • Who it's for: People who use Claude Code most days and keep running into limits on Pro.
  • What's missing compared with Team: Team is sold in seats, with a minimum of 2 people and up to 150. Team adds single sign-on, search across your company's tools, and up to $500 a month in pooled API credits.

Team

  • Cost: For each person, per month. Standard is $25 monthly or $20 if you pay yearly. Premium is $125 monthly or $100 yearly. You need at least 2 people, and up to 150.
  • What you get: Standard seats include 1.25 times Pro's usage per session. Premium seats include 6.25 times. You can mix both kinds of seats. You also get single sign-on, search across your company's tools, Claude Code and Cowork, and up to $500 a month in pooled API credits.
  • Who it's for: A group working together. If it's only you, it isn't the plan for you.
  • What's missing compared with Enterprise: Enterprise adds SCIM, audit logs, a Compliance API, a HIPAA-ready offering and an IP allowlist. It charges usage at API rates, with spend limits set by admins. On Team, usage can't be shared between people. Each person gets their own.

Enterprise

  • Cost: $20 per seat a month, billed yearly, plus usage at API rates. Signing up on your own needs at least 20 seats. Going through a sales person needs at least 50.
  • What you get: No limit per seat. Admins set spend limits instead. You also get SCIM, audit logs, a Compliance API, a HIPAA-ready offering and an IP allowlist.
  • Who it's for: Large companies with security and records rules.
  • What's missing: Nothing above it. This is the top plan.

When you hit a limit

When you use up your share, you have three choices:

  • Wait. The five-hour limit resets. Pro and Max also have a weekly limit, which resets at a set time each week.
  • Move up to a bigger plan.
  • Turn on usage credits. You pay API rates up to a monthly cap you set, and you can get alerts. If you subscribed through a phone app, you turn them on from the web.

Before you pay

  • There is no free trial for Pro, Max or Team.
  • If you upgrade, you are charged right away, with a prorated credit for what you already paid.
  • If you cancel, you keep the plan until the end of the period.
  • Payments can't be refunded, except where the law says so. In the EEA and UK, that is within 14 days. Apple handles refunds for apps bought through Apple.
